Development Forum 2000
The TUC is sponsoring the London Development Policy Forum to be held on 5 July 2000.
The Secretary of State for International Development, Clare Short, will take part in the afternoon session, as will a number of prominent opinion formers and leading campaigners on development issues.
The event will enable participants to make a contribution to the development debate in order to broaden the support for, and enhance the effectiveness of, the British overseas development aid programme.
The Forum will afford an opportunity for all sections of civil society, notably trade unionists, keen on improving the lives of millions living in developing countries to have a say in shaping development policies.
This is the second time the TUC is sponsoring the London Development Policy Forum as part of an initiative by the Department for International Development to increase understanding, and raise awareness, of development issues among the general public and in the international development community.
For invitations for the Forum, to be held at Church House, London, contact Joy Barraclough or Samantha Dooley at the Central Office of Information (020 7261 8400).
