London Film School vacancies

The deadline for applications for the posts of Senior Lecturer in Camera and Editing Department Technician is Friday 24 October 2008.

The London Film School is recognised as one of the world's key graduate schools and is a member of the Skillset Screen Academy Network. The Screen Academy Network is a small number of institutions accredited by the UK film industry as "centres of excellence".

Based in Covent Garden, the London Film School (LFS) offers a practice-based MA programme and is structured as a working studio, shooting around 180 short films each year, on 16mm, 35mm and digital formats.

LFS is currently advertising two posts in the Camera and Editing Departments.

Senior Lecturer in Camera

£27,405- £30,237 pa - 10 weeks annual leave

To be primarily responsible for the delivery of the camera operating curriculum as well as cinematography teaching and departmental administrative support. There will be teaching on both film and digital cameras. The ability to offer positive detailed advice and feedback at screenings is important.

The Senior Lecturer is responsible for the management of the department's Camera Assistant post, our maintenance programme and any hire of camera equipment. The post holder will also be responsible for the department's regular liaison with the profession in the UK.

Editing Department Technician/Instructor

£23,062 - £26,054 - 10 weeks annual leave

Principal duties involve general maintenance of the editing equipment and rooms, scheduling access to the editing facilities, and daily support to two members of academic staff. You will also be required to give technical instruction and assist students during their picture and sound editing projects.

The ideal candidate will have a thorough knowledge of AVID Media Composers and Xpress Pro, gained by working within a post production facility, experience of 16mm and 35mm film post-production and an interest in instruction and student support.
