New member benefit with MAC PRO

BECTU has teamed up with MAC PRO to deliver a new benefit for hair and make-up, costume and film artiste members.

Several members met with MAC’s artist team to mark the scheme launch yesterday (8 December 2008) at the company’s premises in Soho, London.

Thanks to the partnership, eligible BECTU members will be able to join MAC PRO for just £10 a year instead of the standard fee of £25 per year. Completed forms should be returned to BECTU which adminsters the scheme.

Membership of MAC PRO entitles members to substantial discounts on MAC products. Discount rates are set according to specialism:

• Make-up Artists - 35% discount
• Wigs and Hair - 35% discount
• Costume and Wardrobe - 25% discount
• Film Artiste - 25% discount.

In the New Year work will continue to devise seminars and workshops at which joint BECTU/MAC PRO members can discuss current products and the developing needs of film, broadcasting and theatre.

“The scheme is a significant benefit to BECTU members; they will be able to access the latest advice and guidance on new products with the added advantage of a special rate on items which are essential for their work,” explained Brian Kelly, BECTU training officer, who has worked with MAC to develop the BECTU scheme.
