Opera House talks adjourned
Discussions at ACAS about a suspended union rep were adjourned until March 7.
The meeting, on February 26, was set up after BECTU threatened to run an industrial action ballot in support of the union's Branch Secretary at the Royal Opera House.
He had been suspended from duty after being confronted by management with a lengthy dossier complaining about his union actitities.
Union and management reported some progress in the first meeting at ACAS, but issued no detailed statement on issues that were discussed.
While ACAS continues its attempts to conciliate the two sides, disciplinary proceedings against the rep are in abeyance, and the union has postponed its plan for a ballot.
