Regional theatre pay increase
BECTU's regional theatre members have voted to accept minimum pay proposals.
91% of BECTU members voting in a ballot have accepted proposals resulting from negotiations with the TMA (Theatrical Management Association) following the survey carried by BECTU earlier this year highlighting low pay in the theatre.
The resulting pay increase on minimum rates within the BECTU/TMA Agreement has now been ratified by the TMA membership and will be implemented retrospectively from 1 October this year.
The increases, covering an 18 month period, are worth between 6.6% and 9.6% for lower paid staff and are an outcome of the union's ongoing campaign against low pay in the theatre industry.
