ENO staff accept 3 year pay deal
BECTU members at ENO have voted by a majority of two to one in favour of accepting the management's offer of a 3 year deal on pay.
The company made the offer after union members voted by 95% to take strike action in pursuit of their claim for a realistic offer on pay.
The new pay deal includes increases in excess of inflation for three years, backdated to 1 August 2005, as well as a marginal improvement in employer's pension contribution.
The details are as follows:
- 2005/6 (Year 1) 3% plus £50 per annum increase in employer's pension contributions
- 2006/7 (Year 2) RPI (inflation) plus 1%
- 2007/8 (Year 3) RPI plus 0.5%
BECTU Supervisory Official Willy Donaghy said: "This new deal is a testament to the unity of our members at ENO.
"The offer includes pay increases in real terms for each of the next three years and against the background of this new found stability for our members we look forward to a considerable improvement in our industrial relations with the ENO"
