Success in pension election

Avril Barker, the union backed BBC Pension Scheme Trustee candidate, has been successful in the recent election.

Avril was backed by BECTU, NUJ and AEEU - the BBC's joint unions.

Before the election she said her priorities as a Trustee will be to maintain the current range of benefits available from the BBC Pension Scheme, and to make sure that any surplus is passed back to members of the Scheme.

Avril has worked at BBC Belfast for more than 20 years as a Vision Mixer, and has been an active BECTU representative both locally and nationally.

She will take up her position as a Member Trustee of the BBC Pension Scheme on 1 September.
