Commercials agreement

London freelance members working in commercials have voted to accept changes to the AFVPA agreement.

Almost two thirds of members voting in the ballot where in favour of proposed changes to AFVPA (Advertising Film and Video Producers Association) pay and conditions agreement.

This followed extended negotiations with the AFVPA which started in January 1999. During 1999 talks collapsed, but were resumed just before Christmas, leading to the AFVPA tabling revised proposals.

The new agreement includes a pay award in line with the increase in the cost of living from July 1998 to be expressed as flat rate increase to benefit lower paid grades.

Other issues affected by the AFVPA agreement are hours of work, Saturday working, night work, meal breaks and travel.
