Background artistes increase

BECTU has achieved another increase in rates for background artistes that come into force from April 2004.

This now brings the daily rate to £69.43 excluding any holiday entitlement.

It has been agreed with PACT that these new rates will apply to all productions from April 2004.

Therefore if a production is shooting from February to May 2004 the rates will come into force in April.

The FAA (Film Artists Association) section of BECTU, which represents background artistes, is keen that the union does not lose sight of the need to address the different problems members have experienced.

Consequently the FAA section will be approaching PACT to enter into negotiations from April 2004 with the intention of reviewing the different anomalies of the agreement.
