Indies working conditions survey

BECTU is asking independent production company staff about their work experiences.

The survey, covering permanent and fixed-term contract staff in independent production companies, is being carried out to discover good, bad or indifferent working conditions.

The PACT Production Agreement covers freelances working for indies on short-term contracts, but there is no equivalent arrangement for those on longer-running arrangements.

This is why the union is asking indie staff to get in touch, to help build up a picture of working conditions for staff across the sector, and help the union target its resources on the key issues of most concern.

The survey closes on 1 May 2006.
