New PACT factual agreement

BECTU has reached a new freelance agreement with PACT covering television factual programmes after two years of negotiations.

“The union has issued its own recommended pay rates”

Coming into effect on 1 October 2007, the new agreement covers freelance contracts with independent production companies in areas such as reality TV and documentaries.

Not covered by the agreement are drama, light entertainment or news programmes.

The agreement does not detail pay as PACT and BECTU were unable to agree rates during negotiations.

The union has therefore issued its own recommended pay rates for television factual programmes.

The text of the new PACT Factual Television Agreement is available from the union's London Production Division [email protected] at BECTU Head Office.
