Ban BNP broadcast says BECTU
BECTU is backing calls to all five UK television channels not to allow the British National Party (BNP) to have any party election broadcast because of the party's well known racist and fascist views.
Union members will be joining a protest outside BBC's Broadcasting House in London today (25 April 1997) to protest at the decision to go ahead with the BNP election broadcast.
Backing the National Assembly Against Racism's campaign against the use of the race card in elections, BECTU is calling on the broadcaster's to reverse their decision to go ahead with transmission of the broadcast.
