October digital day

BECTU and Women in Film & Television have teamed up with Sony to present a digital technology open day.

The 2 October open day will consist of three events in Central London:

  • Exhibition: An opportunity at BAFTA to get you hands on a wide range of Sony broadcast equipment.
  • Seminars: Alongside the BAFTA exhibition will be series of seminars for those wanting a more in-depth understanding of digital technology.
  • SX University: Hour long demonstrations of Sony's desk-top digital hybrid editing system at BECTU Head Office.

The idea for the event was developed by John Sealy of BECTU's Producers and Directors Group, BECTU's Equality Officer Jane Paul, Women in Film & Television chief executive Kate Norrish, and Sony, because they believe it is essential that women working in film and television are given the opportunity to keep up with the fast pace of technological change.

However they stress the event is not only for women - men are equally welcome.

Further details, along with a pre-booking form, are given in the September 1997 issue of BECTU's magazine Stage Screen and Radio.
