Digital production day
A digital production day is taking place on 20 June and will feature a range of the latest equipment.
The union has teamed up with the Directors' Guild, OpTex and Sony to bring BECTU members and guests informative seminars as well as displaying the latest digital equipment.
There will be an opportunity to find out about the latest production technology, including the new high definition HD24P format, an introduction to a range of Sony products and OpTex technology. Product specialists will be available to answer questions.
With the call for more productions to be shot in widescreen there will be chance to view windscreen cameras. A panel will also be available to answer questions, and will consist of representatives from across the industry.
OpTex, who have developed a range of lenses for high definition cameras, will showing a range of "film" style production equipment. Sony will showing the Betacam SX laptop editor along with the DVCAM DSR-70P portable editing recorder.
The exhibition and presentation will be held at BAFTA, 195 Piccadilly, London on 20 June 2000; admission free.
