Experienced freelances required

BECTU Skillsbase requires Careers and Training Advisers following increased demand for the service.

Advisers will be contracted on a freelance basis at a daily rate of £150 plus subsistence and travel expenses.

The person

We require people with the following skills and experience:

• Essential:

• At least five years experience of working in the Broadcasting, Film, Video and Interactive Media industry (current experience essential)
• Knowledge and/or experience of working as a freelance or running your own business
• Excellent communication skills

• Desirable:

• Experience in working in a training or career guidance role
• Good IT skills
• A qualification, or working towards a qualification in a training or career guidance role

The role

Successful applicants will provide individual advice and assistance to freelances about their career and professional development. You will be supported by the Skillsbase office and will be provided with comprehensive, paid, induction and training.

Members with experience in

• Interactive Media
• Hair and Make Up
• Camera
• Sound

are particularly encouraged to apply.

Advisers will be working closely with BECTU members and must have a demonstrated commitment to trade union principles.
