BECTU 24/7 legal advice line
A new freephone advice line forms part of a new range of legal services for BECTU members.
The new legal package, provided in conjunction with the union's solicitors Thompsons, offers a number of new services for BECTU members:
- Free legal advice and, where appropriate, legal assistance in personal injury cases covering not just accidents at work but also accidents away from work. Cover for accidents away from work (but not at work) now also apply to members' families. Contact the Legal Department at BECTU Head Office during office hours for further details.
- Direct telephone access to Thompsons for the existing wills and conveyancing services and also - if the matter cannot be dealt with by issuing a green form in the normal way - for personal injury cases.
- Free initial legal advice by telephone on all non-employment issues (e.g. property, divorce, debt) on a 24 hour, 365 days basis provided by Thompsons.
