Organising for Growth 2002

Courses aimed at BECTU Branch activists are to be held over summer 2002.

The two day Organising for Growth courses will focus primarily on recruitment and retention in the workplace.

The courses are open to Branch Representatives in the Arts and Entertainment and Independent Broadcasting Divisions.

The Organising for Growth course aims to:

  • Raise awareness about organising and recruitment issues facing BECTU
  • Review and assess current organising practice
  • Build and sustain an effective lay reps. base
  • Develop grassroots organisation
  • Develop skills as a union representative
Places are available on the following courses which will take place in London:
  1. Monday 8 April - Tuesday 9 April
  2. Friday 24 May - Saturday 25 May
  3. Friday 7 June - Saturday 8 June
  4. Monday 8 July - Tuesday 9 July
  5. Monday 16 September - Tuesday 17 September
Each session will start at 0930 and finish by 1730.

Spaces are limited and early application is advisable. Expenses, travel and, where appropriate, accommodation will be provided by BECTU.
