History Project vacancy
The BECTU History Project wishes to engage a Project Worker.
The position is to assist the Project's voluntary committee in organising a major event at BAFTA this Autumn to publicise the activity and achievements of the History Project and in particular its work in creating a major oral history archive of the film and broadcasting industries.
The engagement will be for a maximum of twenty five days spread over a five month period. The Project worker will be based at the union's Head Office in Clapham and will have access to full office facilities including a computer workstation. Pay will be calculated pro rata on the BECTU Organiser rate of £26,000 p.a.
The successful applicant will have had experience of organising major events (preferably in the media industries), will have computer skills (word processing, e-mail, Excel spreadsheet and the Internet) and will have had experience of handling media coverage of events.
