Telephone failure at Head Office

Communications with BECTU's Clapham office are likely to remain disrupted until at least Monday February 16.

Telephone lines into the London office were severed during February 10, leaving hundreds of callers with a pre-recorded message instead of the union's switchboard staff.

British Telecom, the union's telephone provider, has blamed the cut on a failed fibre optic cable which might not be restored until next Monday, five days after the fault occurred.

Members and others who need to contact BECTU in the meantime can e-mail [email protected], or contact one of the union's regional offices:

Scotland 0141 248 9558
Wales 02920 666557
Manchester 0845 601 5045

BECTU apologises for the inconvenience, which has been caused by circumstances well beyond the union's control.
