NEC Labs by-election result

John Wild has been elected uncontested in the BECTU NEC Laboratories by-election.

Following the resignation on 1 November 2005 of John Searle as the job-sharing representative of the Laboratories Division on BECTU's NEC (National Executive Committee), which under union rules required the resignation also of the other job-sharer, John Wild, a by-election has been held.

Nominations of candidates in the by-election closed at 1200 on 2 December.

The only nomination received from Branches in the Division was for John Wild (Film Labs North) - the nominating Branches were Film Labs North and Laboratories Miscellaneous.

The election was therefore uncontested and no ballot was required.
