Union Bill rally
A rally is being held at the House of Commons on 18 October to promote the Trade Union Rights and Freedoms Bill.
The Bill, if enacted, would:
- Give better protection to striking workers
- Prevent the use of replacement labour during strikes
- Enable simpler and fairer industrial action balloting
- Allow solidarity action in certain circumstances
- Give trade union rights to prison officers
The rally on 18 October starts at 1600 opposite the House of Commons and culminates with a rally at 1730 in Committee Room 14, chaired by John Hendon QC, with speakers including John McDonnel MP, Katy Clark MP and RMT General Secretary Bob Crow.
The Bill is listed for a second reading in the House the day after.
The rally is supported by BECTU, and full details are given on the United Campaign to Repeal the Anti Trade Union Laws site.
