Waiting game at LWT

Industrial action continues at LWT, while union members wait to see if management are going to come up with a proposal to settle the long-running pay dispute.

A below-inflation 3% award was imposed by LWT's owners, the Granada Media Group, in January.

ACAS has offered its assistance in reaching an agreement, but this was turned down by management on the grounds that they believed they could settle the matter directly with the joint unions.

The union has signalled to members that it may be necessary to consider escalating the dispute as the summer progresses or as we move into autumn. Meanwhile the ball remains in the company's court.
