Strike action at Scottish Media Group

Members of BECTU, NUJ and AEEU have issued strike notices to Scottish Media Group, owner of Scottish Television and Grampian Television.

The proposed action is because the company are insisting on compulsory redundancies as a result of restructuring since the merger of STV and Grampian. In addition, the unions are demanding a pay award of 4.5% and the company's final offer is only 3%.

The ballot result is expected on 18 December, with industrial action able to take place from 25 December onwards.
