2.4% pay deal at S4C
Members at Welsh language Broadcaster S4C have accepted a pay deal negotiated by local BECTU stewards.
The deal gives a 2.4% pay rise to staff, the RPI figure at the benchmark month. However, people earning less than £25,000 will receive a welcome rise of £1,000.
In addition, staff will have their working week reduced by 30 minutes and receive an extra day's annual leave per year of service after the first five years, up to a maximum of five extra days. BECTU to will continue to campagin for S4C to have an additional day off in recognition of St David's day on 1 March.
National Official Nigel Mason commented: "This is the second year in a row that BECTU has secured a better deal for lower paid workers at S4C and is a tribute to the local reps' hard work."
