BBC security staff agree pay increase

Members at Wilson James, the BBC’s security contractor in London, have accepted a 3.8% pay rise backdated to 1 July 2008.

The settlement follows a consultative ballot in which over 80% of members voted in favour of the increase.

BECTU’s Organising Official, Suresh Chawla, commented: “Although the rise falls slightly short of our initial claim we feel it represents a reasonable settlement at this stage for our hard working members who continue to provide high quality security across the BBC sites in London.”
