AFVPA Working Time deal
The AFVPA commercials agreement has been amended to bring the breaks clause into line with the UK Working Time Regulations.
In advance of the renegotiation of the next three year commercials agreement between BECTU and the AFVPA, it has been agreed to change the breaks clause because of new working time legislation.
The clause now reads: 'The minimum break between completion of call and recall shall be 11 hours...' Consequently, where a shoot lasts more than two days and this 11 hour break is curtailed, time off the clock will be paid.
BECTU London Production Division official Sue Harris commented: "Members working on commercials should note this and make sure that, now the agreement has been updated, whenever the situation occurs, they receive the correct payment."
