TV and film workers are being invited to attend BECTU's Freelance Fair in June.

Union members and non-members will be equally welcome, and ITV, Skillset, and BAFTA, are among the organisations backing the freelance fair, due to be held in London on June 9.

They will be on hand to talk to current, or hopeful, freelancers at BAFTA's HQ in Piccadilly, as will The Knowledge, the Health and Safety Executive, Production Base, Thompsons solicitors, and many others.

Billed as "a chance to meet industry professionals and question them on everything you wanted to know but were afraid to ask", the event features four expert seminars on subjects ranging from starting out as a freelancer, to the impact of last year's TV Wrap campaign among Soho runners.

The day is due to finish with a social get-together where freelancers will be able to network with each other, and some of the industry's heavyweights.

Entry to the fair is free to everyone, and freelancers who are not currently BECTU members will be able to join the union on the day with a 25% discount on their first year's membership.

Full details of the Freeances' Fair are: 1pm on June 9 at BAFTA, 195 Piccadilly, London, W1J 9LN. The event organisers can be contacted via: [email protected].

Although registration is not necessary - attendees can just turn up on the day - space at the seminars is limited, and anyone interested in joining in is advised to register by using the form below.
