Directors key meeting
UK film and television Directors are invited to attend a key meeting on 25 November in London.
The meeting, organised by the Directors Rights Campaign, will cover progress and future tactics to win payments due to Directors under European law. UK Directors have had rights, including repeat and overseas sales fees, since 1996, but British companies have continued to pressure them to sign away their rights.
The Directors Rights Campaign, involving BECTU, the Directors Guild of Great Britain (DGGB) and the Directors and Producers Rights Society (DPRS) aims to achieve equatable remuneration for film and television directors for secondary exploitation of their work.
The Campaign moves up a gear in November with an important meeting to which all UK film and television Directors are urged to attend, including those who are not members of BECTU, the DGGB or DPRS.
The meeting takes place at the Berners Hotel, Berners Street, London W1 at 1900 (cash bar from 1830) on Thursday 25 November.
