Fire strike demo goes ahead
A London rally in support of firefighters is still on despite suspension of their strike.
The Trades Union Congress has released detail of the demonstration and march which is due to take place on Saturday December 7.
Trade unionists will assemble at Victoria Embankment at 12.00 and march to Hyde Park for an open-air rally at 1.00.
TUC General Secretary John Monks has asked unions to give the event top priority, indicating that the Fire Brigades Union has full support of trade unionists across the UK. A new TUC website www.fp4f.com carries full coverage of the dispute and the London rally.
