2006-2008 NEC nominations open
BECTU Branches are invited to nominate members for the union's National Executive and President.

Branches in each Division can nominate members from that Division for the National Executive Committee (NEC) and the position of BECTU President.
The number of NEC seats available is fixed under BECTU Rules by the number of members in each Division as at 31 December 2005.
Where ballots are required, members in each Division will vote for their respective representatives.
Any Branch in any Division can nominate any member for election as President. All members are entitled to vote in this ballot.

Branches have to ensure that the General Secretary's office receives their nominations by 1200 on Monday 6 March. They must be made on an official form, which has been sent to Branch Secretaries.
Where ballots are required, these will open in the week commencing 13 March, and close on Friday 28 April.
The results will be embargoed under rule until the close of the union's 2006 annual conference in Eastbourne on Sunday 21 May.
Electoral Reform Services will, as usual, be the independent scrutineer administering the ballots. Members should check that the union has their correct postal address.
