Course description

There is more to a branch than just dealing with disputes and personal cases. It is sometimes making the workplace a more enjoyable place to work. This course is the follow on from the reps courses: Reps part 2; H&S reps part 2; How to be a Training Organiser and promotes learning as a way to achieve this. The course looks at developing learning agreements with your employer and outside training providers to organise training. It looks at how you can give inforamtion, advise and guidance to fellow members. The course also looks at how this can be used to organise a branch and recruit new members.

Who should attend

This course is for exisiting reps who want to learn more about using training and learning to recruit and organise.

'Learning outcomes' are a way to describe what a course or a workshop will contain. Instead of listing what is included we spell out what you will be expected to know by the end of the course. By the end of this course you will have learned more about:

  • Recap what the rights of a union learning rep are
  • Learn what a learning agrement is
  • Learn the different types of learning
  • Learn how to give information, advice and guidance to members
  • Learn how to organise a workpkace event
