This two-day course is suitable for environment reps, or any reps keen to embed environmental issues into their branch agenda.
Becoming a pension champion
This course is a follow-on for those that have an existing knowledge of pensions or have completed our 'Understanding pensions' course.

Introduction to Employment Law Introduction to Employment Law
This short course gives an overview of employees’ legal rights, including contracts of employment, discrimination law, redundancy and unfair dismissal. The course aims to provide reps with a basic understanding of legal rights to assist them to advise members and to inform collective negotiations.
Introduction to Pensions
This course introduces members to the details of workplace pension schemes and how they work. It is designed to help BECTU representatives begin to build their understanding of pensions so they can assist members with pension queries and participate actively in any discussions instigated by employers on proposals related to pensions.
Mental Health Awareness reps course
The mental health awareness course is part of BECTU’s commitment to address the needs of reps in the area of mental health, so that they feel better equipped to meet the needs of their members in the workplace.
Movie Magic Budgeting - Glasgow

In Budgeting the flexible format allows users to create and edit comprehensive budgets of all sizes for all types of productions.

Negotiation Skills Negotiation Skills
It isn’t just pay. Organising and bargaining are essential skills for a branch to be effective in protecting worker rights and retaining or securing workplace rights in the future.

This course aims to give you the skills to bargain effectively in the workplace on a range of matters. You will explore the different roles in the negotiating process and learn about effective negotiation. You will have the opportunity to build on the skills in this course to prepare for and participate in the ‘negotiating table’.
Neurodiversity Skills course: One day rep training
This course will also give you the opportunity to understand and recognise the differences associated with neurodiversity, explore the myths and assumptions and consider how this may impact the working environment.
