This course is part of our commitment to address the needs of reps in the area of mental health so they feel better equipped to support  members in the workplace.

Mental health is a key issue for trade unions and the course will enable participants to build knowledge around the subject of mental health so they feel able to support colleagues, raise awareness and pursue progress with the employer, in order to build a more positive workplace.

Course participants will be able to explore themes through discussion, in a sensitive, friendly and supportive environment.

Course aims

To help participants:

    develop a deeper understanding of  mental health conditions;
    develop an understanding of the law and mental health;
    identify best practice for developing workplace policies;
    identify best practice for addressing workplace stress;
    develop an action plan for organising around mental health in the workplace.

This course runs from 9.30-4.30

Duration

This is a one-day non-residential course which usually runs from 9.30am to 4.30pm.
Lunch will be provided.
