Theatre employers approve 3.5% rise

The Theatrical Management Association, the employers’ body for regional theatre, has approved a 3.5% increase for 2008/9.

The TMA’s decision was the final stage in this year’s negotiation and followed a 2 to 1 vote last month by BECTU members to accept the offer.

Minimum hourly rates will increase by 3.5%, whilst all other payments and allowances will increase by 3%. The employer’s pension contribution rises by 0.5%.

BECTU’s agreement with the TMA covers technical and front of house staff in more than 200 regional venues which include sites in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
