Three-year deal with Disney

BECTU and Disney Theatrical Productions have reached a three-year agreement on pay.

The arrangements provide for a 5% increase on basic rates for 2008/9, backdated to 19 August 2008.

“The new agreement …. also introduces some beneficial changes to working practices and improvements in holiday and sick pay entitlement.”

For 2009/10 and 2010/11 basic rates will be increased by 4% or RPI, whichever is the greater.

The new agreement, which covers technical staff working on the West End’s long-running Lion King, also introduces some beneficial changes to working practices and improvements in holiday and sick pay entitlement.

“We are pleased with the new agreement and look forward to continuing to support staff on the production during its implementation.” commented BECTU Supervisory Official, Willy Donaghy.

Staff contracts will be updated to reflect the new agreement and work is due to begin on a new staff handbook.
