BBC cancels Phoo Action
BBC Scotland has notified BECTU today (14 November 2008) of the decision to cancel production of Phoo Action.
BECTU has been assured that all freelances assigned to the unit will receive the notice pay they are due. Freelances required to work a run-down period will receive notice pay in addition.
Phoo Action had been commissioned by BBC Three.
Commenting on today’s news, BECTU Scottish Organiser, Paul McManus said: “Naturally everyone at BBC Scotland and at BECTU are disappointed that the commission has been withdrawn.
“If any of our freelance members experience difficulty in securing their notice pay they should contact BECTU’s Scottish Office straightaway”.
