New pay plan rejected

Proposals have been rejected to change BBC Resources new joiners pay structure.

The union rejected the proposal at the latest meeting held to discuss possible changes to Resources pay structure.

The union said the current proposals where unclear, and the final plans may not in any case be agreed, and therefore could not agree that new staff joining BBC Resources move to different pay system than current staff in the Division.

At the meeting management also outlined the impact they believed their ideas on pay structure would have on conditions including controversially current long day working and travel arrangements.

No proposals were made to address particular problems with staff working either 8 or 12 hour days regularly.

Further details of the meeting can be found in a separate report.
