Commercials 2002 claim
BECTU's 2002 claim has been submitted to the Advertising Producers Association.
Covering freelances working on commercials, it addresses longstanding problems around travel time and mileage in the Advertising Producers Association (APA) Commercials Agreement.
Perhaps more significantly it also proposes a radical restructuring of the Commercials Agreement ratecard.
Until now the ratecard has listed minimum and maximum rates for each grade: a hangover from the amalgamation of previously separate agreements.
This, along with the advent of holiday pay for freelances, has produced a confusing situation.
"We are proposing a radical simplification, to sort out basic pay and holiday pay in one fell swoop" comments BECTU acting Assistant General Secretary Martin Spence.
