2006-2008 NEC elected
The result of BECTU's NEC elections have been announced at this year's union Annual Conference.
As well as the NEC (National Executive Committee) election result, it has also been announced that Tony Lennon has been re-elected President.
Tony Lennon attracted 4259 votes compared to fellow candidate Tudor Gates who received 1034.
There were also ballots in the Arts and Entertainment, BBC and London London Production Divisions.
No elections were necessary in the Independent Broadcasting, Laboratories and Regional Production Divisions because the number of nominations did not exceed the number of NEC seats available.
Following the election the new NEC comprises:
- Arts and Entertainment: Suresh Chawla, Micheal Corfield, Douglas McGill
- BBC: Pete Harding and Angie Scurr [job share], Andy Love, Willis McBriar, Jane Perry, Winston Phillips
- Independent Broadcasting: Robert Scott, Dave Smith
- Laboratories: John Wild
- London Production: Jack Amos, Peter Cox, Tudor Gates, Norma Ndebele
