Martin Spence re-elected BECTU AGS

One candidate was nominated before the 25 October deadline which has resulted in Spence being re-elected for a five year term of office.

Eighteen valid nominations were received from Branches or Branch Committee meetings.

The election was held as a result of Spence's previous term ending this coming January.

Spence said: "I'd just like to thank all the members who backed me to carry on doing this job.

"It's great to know that I've got that support, and I'll do my best to justify it over the next five years."

In June this year members in the Arts & Entertainment, BBC and Independent Broadcasting Divisions elected Luke Crawley as AGS to replace Gerry Morrissey, who had become General Secretary in April.

The independent scrutineer for the election, which has confirmed the result, was Electoral Reform Services, The Election Centre, 33 Clarendon Road, London N8 0NW.
