Sunday opening talks still ongoing

Contrary to recent reports BECTU has not reached agreement with the National Theatre over Sunday performances.

BECTU Supervisory Official Willy Donaghy commented: “I am aware that the National has been awarded extra Arts Council funding to facilitate Sunday performances, but negotiations are ongoing and have yet to be concluded.

“Recent press stories stating that an agreement has been reached are inaccurate.

“However, constructive discussions are taking place which BECTU hopes will produce acceptable arrangements for remuneration and quality time off work for our members.”
