Resources pay difficulties

BBC Resources pay structure talks appear to be heading towards difficulties.

Little or no common ground has been found after five months of talks held to discuss possible changes to Resources pay structure.

At the latest meeting further differences have emerged on the management proposals:

  • Not controlling the length of days or peaks of work throughout the year.
  • The reduction of overnight qualifying hours for additional payments.
  • The fully competent salary rate in each grade.
Management were also warned of the possible negative implications on the talks if they attempted to impose proposals on trainees that are in dispute.

The warning was given after the union rejected proposals to change BBC Resources new joiners pay structure at the previous meeting.

Further details of the latest meeting can be found in a separate report.
