BBC Scotland freelance agreement
Members have voted 4:1 to accept the first proposed agreement with BBC Scotland covering freelancers and casuals.
During the ballot members made it clear that the issue of annual cost-of-living rises remains of paramount concern to them.
Members have asked why BBC rates, which have been frozen for over 10 years, should not be subject to the same cost-of-living increases which staff and freelances in general enjoy on an annual basis.
The proposals voted on include a minumum rate card, overtime payments and working hours scheduled in line with permanent staff.
The proposals are the result of BECTU gaining recognition for freelancers working for BBC Scotland late last year.
The union is currently running a petition for freelance recognition across the rest of the BBC.
