President and NEC elections

Nominations for the election of BECTU President and NEC representatives for the 2008-2010 term of office are now open.

Documentation setting out the timetable, procedures and rules governing the elections has been despatched to Branch Secretaries.

The deadline for receipt of nominations for the post of President and for divisional representatives to the NEC is 12 noon on Monday 3 March 2008.

In a letter to all Branch secretaries, General Secretary Gerry Morrissey wrote “Branches are urged, in line with rule 28a, to deal properly and diligently with this matter of importance to all members”.

Any branch with difficulty or uncertainty as to any of the requirements governing the elections should contact BECTU’s membership department by email on [email protected] or by telephone to 020 7346 0900 without delay. Additional copies of the election circular, No 745/2008, can be supplied on request.
